This season is over, MKC thanks all the members of the karting community that contributed to our 2008 series. Lynda and Enzo Chiovitti, the Simcoe Kart Club, Innisfil Kart Club, Waterloo Kart Club, Toronto Kart Club, the Subaru Series and Kawartha Downs and Speedway.
Planning is already well under way for all aspects for the 2009 racing season. The first major change is that the club will operate under the new name of Kawartha Durham Kart Club (KDKC). A new website is under development at www.kawarthadurhamkartclub.com, you will want to bookmark the new site as that's a long name to type in every time.
The club will host it's race dates at the Kawartha Downs and Speedway facility southwest of Peterborough. New sections of paving will be added during the 2009 season that will enhance the banked turns and high speed straights and provide challenging karting configurations.
The facility offers club members and visitors lots of parking, fully paved pits, washrooms and additional on-site entertainment and dining. A big thanks goes to the Kawartha Downs and Speedway facility for welcoming us as a part of the racing family at Kawartha.
